Jennifer Evans, Cassville City Clerk and Chief finance advisor, was the recipient of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award for her work she has done for the City of Cassville.

This recognition is from the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada. It is for the City of Cassville’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year of 2018. This is the third year in a row that the GFOA has recognized the City of Cassville for its excellence in accuracy in accounting and financial reporting. It’s one of the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

The high level of effort that goes into our financial reporting is significant. Our financial reports are examined and studied by an independent panel of professionals in the area of government accounting and reporting. Once judged by them to meet the highest level of excellence, accuracy and full transparency on the city’s finances. It was decided that Evans would again receive this award.

Being financially sound, positions the city and community for the future and provides for a strong positive credit rating for any financial requirements we may have in the years to come. Steve Walensky said, “I appreciate the recognition of receiving this award again for the third time from the GFOA and I would like to thank and credit Jennifer Evans for her determination and skill set she brings to her position here at Cassville City Hall.”

Jennifer has worked with the City of Cassville since 2013.
