Exeter man arrested for threatening to kill girlfriend

An Exeter man was arrested after allegedly pointing a loaded gun at his girlfriend and threatening to kill her. Aaron Lee Stewart, 37, was charged with domestic assault in the first degree as a first offense, felonious restraint and unlawful use of a weapon. Stewart was being held in the Barry County Jail until he was released on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
According to an affidavit of probable cause by Barry County Deputy Alvin Zabala, Stewart threatened his girlfriend on December 17 at a residence on Farm Road 1017 in Exeter. In the report, it states that Stewart held her in her home, not allowing her to leave, pointed the loaded gun at her saying he was going to kill her and then used a knife to cut off her clothes.
Zabala also stated that Stewart has a criminal history.
