Exeter NHS hosts fall blood drive Oct. 21
October 16, 2019
The Exeter National Honor Society will host their fall blood drive on Monday, October 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the school's multiple purpose room. Donors should enter through the elementary doors and proceed toward the lunchroom. NHS members will be there to assist donors.
The theme this year is “Zombies don’t need blood, but humans do”. A free t-shirt is given to all those who attempt to donate. Students who are 16 years old can donate, but they must have a permission form filled out by their parents. Those forms are available in the High School office or from NHS adviser Lucretia Brattin.
The event is through the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the area's exclusive provider of blood products to over forty area hospitals, is experiencing a critical shortage of all type O blood products. Donations are needed immediately to ensure that adequate reserve levels are maintained.
At all CBCO blood centers during the month of October, participants will receive a CBCO campfire mug. This 16 ounce ceramic colorful mug can be filled with your favorite drink or soup.
To be eligible to give blood, you must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, and present a valid photo ID. For more information about sharing your good health with others, please visit our website at www.cbco.org, or call toll-free 1-800-280-5337.
