Four recognized as Barry County Century Farm Families

The Foster farm is a 160-acre farm in Monett that was first established in 1901 and originally raised sheep, hogs, cattle and chickens. Pictured, J.W. and Barbara Foster are pictured with Extension representative Eden Stewart.

The Renkoski family has 180 acres in Purdy purchased in 1910, that originally raised cows, hogs and chickens. Alvin and Rosella Renkoski are pictured above with Stewart.

The University of Missouri Cassville Extension office hosted a special ceremony to award four different families the distinction of Century Farm Family on Thursday, September 5. Pictured above, siblings Rose Mills and David Renkoski are pictured with Eden Stewart, of the extension office. The Renkoski farm is 50 acres in Purdy that was purchased in 1917 and operated as dairy farm in years past.

The Marchlewski/Moloski farm is 40 acres and located in Pierce City. It was originally purchased in 1896 as a general farm that produced many different goods throughout the years. Pictured at right, from left to right: Donna Conzett, Lawrence Conzett, Patricia Cribbs and Stewart.
