Health Department to offer specials for Public Health Month

March 20, 2019
          In recognition of the month of April as Public Health Month, the Barry County Health Department will be offering the following:
          • Unofficial bacteriological testing on private well water will be $10. Samples must be collected and returned in a department-provided water test kit during the week of April 1 through April 3rd, Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Cassville.
          • For the month of April, nursing staff will conduct heart disease and stroke risk calculations with blood pressure checks and STD testing.
          • Classes on smart shopping will be taught by Missouri Extension on Tuesdays, April 2 and 9, at the Monett office and Wednesdays, April 3 and 10, at the Cassville office. The classes are open to the public.
          • Breastfeeding classes and support will be available Mondays and Tuesdays in Monett, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays in Cassville, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
