Barry County Health Department changes COVID-19 quarantine policy

Barry County Health Department, on the recommendation of the CDC, has adjusted quarantine requirements for close contacts of COVID-19 positive patients.
Close contacts not living with a COVID-19 patient are required to quarantine for 10 days instead of the previous 14-day requirement.
Close contacts living with a COVID-19 patient are required to quarantine 10 days,
instead of 14, from the last day of contact with the COVID-19 patient.
Included in the recommendations is the option for close contacts, who have a negative COVID-19 test, to end their quarantine after 7 days. The asymptomatic test can be completed no sooner than day 5 (48 hrs. prior to day 7) of the quarantine.
Tests obtained more than 48 hours prior to day 7 cannot be accepted. Asymptomatic testing is available at local private labs, pharmacies, and other providers at the cost of the individual. Due to State and Federal
requirements placed on testing equipment and supplies, the Barry County Health Department cannot provide close contact asymptomatic testing.
Individuals who have obtained a private COVID-19 test may present written or electronic proof of a negative COVID-19 test to the Barry County Health Department and request an early end of quarantine.
Close contacts not living with a COVID-19 may provide written/electronic proof of a negative COVID-19 test obtained no sooner than day 5 of quarantine.
Close contacts living with a COVID-19 patient may provide written/electronic proof of a negative COVID-19 test obtained no sooner than 5 days from the last day of contact with the COVID-19 patient.
COVID-19 patients are required to remain in isolation for 10 days from symptom onset and if the close contact lives in the same home, the last day of contact is day 10 of isolation.
