Lady Wildcats open track season
with win at McDonald County
Southwest’s 4x800 relay team of Christian Long, Travis Sickles, Otis Rainer, and Caden Uthe kicked off the season with a second-place finish at McDonald County.

It was a little wet and a little cool at Anderson on Thursday, but area tracksters didn’t let that stand in the way of their first competition in two years. Cassville’s Kyren Postlewait posted first place performances in the 100 meter dash and the shot, as the Lady Wildcats won the varsity girls division of the McDonald County Stancell Stampede with 163.5 points. The Ladycats scored in every contested event except the 200 meter dash enroute to the team title.
Three second place medals from David Oliphant helped boost Cassville to second in the varsity boys standings, as the Wildcats scored 106. Southwest’s Travis Sickles won the 1600 and 3200 meter races and ran a leg on the second place 4x800 meter relay to pace the Trojans to 5th with 46.
