Ladycats claim second in wrestling sectional

The Cassville Lady Wildcats, led by the championship performance of Annie Moore, rolled up opponents and points to take second in the team standings of the girls wrestling sectional at Harrisonville on Saturday. The Ladycats scored 94 points, trailing only Lebanon’s 139 in the field of 48 schools.
Moore, a sophomore, improved to 31-1 on the season, and won the 112 pound weight class.
Faith James, a freshman, took second in the 137 pound weight class.
Kailey Artherton and Hailey Roark joined Moore and James as individual state qualifiers. Artherton placed third in the 122 pound weight class, and Roark was third in the 132 pound division.
All four will represent Cassville in the MSHSAA Girls Wrestling Championships on March 9 in Independence, Mo. This is just the third year for a Missouri state championship in girls wrestling.
