Letter to the Editor: Thanks to two area businesses
June 26, 2019
Most "Letters To The Editor" are complaints, but I'd like to give credit and say "Thanks" to two area businesses. On Sun., May 26, I finally gave up trying to fix a cracked toilet and purchased a new one at Michael's Hardware.
When asked if I needed anything else, I joked, "Somebody to install it." Zane handed me Clint's Plumbing's number and said to give him a call. I did, expecting to set up an appointment for Tuesday or Wednesday (this was Memorial Day Weekend). Clint said, "I'll be there in an hour."
After removing the old toilet, he discovered that the mounting plate was broken, and I'd need a new water line. By now, it's after 5 p.m., and everything's closed. Clint called Zane at home and, much to my surprise, he came and re-opened the store so Clint could buy the required parts to complete the installation.
My second surprise came with the bill. After hours, on a Sunday, three day weekend, I expected to pay much more than charged. Say what you want about "small town" businesses....I say THANK YOU!!
