Local 4-H provides leadership opportunities
March 27, 2019
Barry County 4-H enrollment is on the rise. The University of Missouri-Extension 4-H program offers a variety of regional, state and national events to Barry County youth to enhance local programming, including summer camps, leadership conferences and competitions.
The Clovers of Success Scholarship Benefit Banquet helps raise funds to share the cost of these extra learning opportunities. This year’s banquet, “A Night in Paris,” is scheduled for Saturday March 30, at The Gathering Place in Purdy beginning at 5 p.m. The Gathering place is on the corner of Business 37 and Hwy C in Purdy.
The evening features a donation-based spaghetti dinner accompanied by a silent auction and a live auction to follow.
“The 4-H members have been working hard to gather donations for the auctions,” according to Brittni Ritchie, Barry County 4-H youth program associate. “The scholarship banquet provides an excellent opportunity for the community to come show support for your youth.”
Proceeds from the Scholarship Banquet will help all youth in the county across all three active clubs located in: Exeter, Cassville and Monett. 4-H is open to all youth ages five through 18. For more information about 4-H in Barry County, call your University of Missouri Extension office of Barry Co. at (417) 847-3161 or email: [email protected].
