The hunt is on in Cassville this Saturday, November 27, as eight businesses team up for the third annual Small Business Scavenger Hunt. Start times for the hunt vary from store to store. See ads at the bottom of this page for more information.
Event organizer, Charli Jo Baugh, of Tomblin’s Jewelry in Cassville, says the annual event is intended to bring the local community together.
“People don’t even have to buy anything in order to participate,” she said. “The main thing we want is for people to have fun.”
The scavenger hunt works like this:
“Each business will donate a gift item of their choice,” Baugh said. “When shoppers come into the business, they will receive a clue that will lead them to a particular item or items.
“For example,” she continued, “maybe it will be ‘Find Santa in his workshop,’ or “Find the heart-shaped diamond.’ When the shopper finds that item, their name is entered into a drawing to be held December 4. People can enter the drawing at each of the eight businesses to increase their chances of winning, or simply enter once at one business for one chance to win.”
According to Baugh, shoppers may earn extra chances to win by taking a selfie inside a participating business, then posting it to Facebook and tagging the business and the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce.
On December 4, the names of participating businesses will be placed in one bucket, and the names of shoppers will be placed in another. The person whose name is drawn which corresponds with the name of the business drawn will be the winner of that store’s prize.
The winners’ names will be posted to Tomblin’s Facebook page the same day.
Participating businesses include: Carey’s Cassville Florist, Designs by Debbie, Diva Bling & The Tiny Highlander Boutique, Forever Yours Embroidery, Habitat ReStore, The Pink Zebra Boutique, Tomblin’s Jewelry & Gifts and Whitley Pharmacy.
Additional businesses may also be included whose names were not available at press time.
Happy hunting!
