Administrators from Crowder College met with Mercy Hospital- Cassville board members and administration at the Cassville hospital last week to accept a donation of $60,000 which will fund the college’s Cassville Instruction Center’s nursing program.
“Partnerships with clinical sites are significant to our nursing programs,” stated Sandra Wilson, Director of Nursing, Crowder College. “Our faculty, staff, and students are grateful for the support and opportunities Mercy Cassville has provided through this donation as well as clinical experiences and employment of our students.”
The funds will be used in two parts in Crowder’s Clinical Simulation Lab in Cassville according to Wilson. $32K will cover the cost of their new “Anne” High Fidelity Simulator which helps strengthen student skills and clinical judgment. This will be the second working simulator in the Cassville program.
The other $28K will go towards the $38K bill to install audio and visual equipment allowing students to review clinical observations as well as review their own clinical experience allowing students to be autonomous with their decisions.
