Monett Schools announce
death of superintendent

Tuesday, November 3, Dr. Mark Drake, assistant superintendent for the Monett School District, announced the unexpected death of district superintendent, Russ Moreland, who died that morning.
“Our district has lost a valued mentor, colleague, and friend,” Drake said on the school’s Facebook page.
The Monett School Board met in executive session Tuesday night to discuss what steps to take following Moreland’s death.
