Motorcyclist dies in Purdy

Robert A. Armfield, 55, of Rogers, Arkansas, died Sunday in a 2:30 p.m. car/motorcycle accident at the intersection of Missouri State Highway 37 and Farm Road 2090 in the city limits of Purdy.
According to the highway patrol report, the accident occurred when a westbound 2019 Buick Envision, driven by a 56-year-old woman from Purdy, failed to yield to Armstrong’s southbound 2007 Harley-Davidson.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene by Barry County coroner, Gary Swearingen. His body was taken to Fohn Funeral Home.
The Harley-Davidson suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Brice’s Towing of Cassville.
The Envision suffered minor damage and was driven from the scene.
The accident was investigated by Corporal J. Long and Sergeant G. Curnes of the Missouri Highway Patrol. The fatality is Troop D’s 84th for 2020.
