Pierce City woman killed in crash outside of Monett

A 63 year old woman from Pierce City died l after two cars crashed about two miles south of Monett on Wednesday, April 24. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a car pulled out in front of a truck, killing the car's driver.
Susan E. Neely, 63, of Pierce City, was driving eastbound in a 2015 Kia Optima and pulled out in front of a 2012 Chevrolet truck, driven by Lon W. Cearley, 64, of Monett.
The crash, which occurred around 8:10 a.m., totalled both vehicles and left the Neely deceased.
Neely was pronounced at the scene by Barry County coroner Jim Fohn.
Cearley suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Cox Hospital in Monett.
Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The Optima and truck were both towed from the scene by Thomas Towing, of Monett.
This is the 26th fatality for Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D in 2019.
