Prepare for a street fair in Purdy!
The Purdy Craft Fair will return for its seventh season on September 11, this year from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Organizer Julie Terry says the event will host more art, craft and vendor booths than its ever had before.
“This year,” Terry said, “we have over 80 vendors, some of whom are making repeat appearances.”
Terry said in addition to the art and craft vendors, there will be a large variety of food vendors present, selling about any type of cuisine a person might be hungry for, including barbecue, burgers, chicken sandwiches, tacos, taco salad, chicken wraps, frozen custards, cotton candy, kettle corn and Kona Ice. Terry said even her husband and son plan to get involved with food-vending this year, and will be serving up drumsticks, baked bean and coleslaw meals.
Tables and chairs for seating will be set up inside The Gathering Place, where the Purdy School District’s art teacher will also be hosting a photo booth and face-painting.
Street vendors will be purveying amenities such as artwork, clothing, jewelry, candles, dog treats, military gear, elderberry products, honey, non-lethal defense paraphernalia, books for all ages, home decor, collectibles, homemade soap and more.
Stop in to shop and stay for lunch Saturday at 100 Old Business Highway 37 and Highway C in Purdy.
