Purdy FFA takes third in Livestock at State competition

The Purdy FFA Chapter attended the 91st Missouri State FFA Convention. Thirteen members represented the Eagles, including Lauren Schallert, Clay Henderson, Erik Cruz, Zane Brown, Mason Schallert, Ky Propps, Shelby Haskins, Jake Kellar, Eli Webb, Bentley Stephens, Aubree Bennett, Brad Hutson and Shelby Heston.

Three contest teams competed at state this year. The Agriculture Sales Team, consisting of Mason Schallert, Ky Propps, Shelby Haskins, and Jake Kellar, placed fourth. The Livestock Team, consisting of Lauren Schallert, Clay Henderson, Erik Cruz, and Zane Brown, earned an appearance on the awards stage by placing third. In addition to competitive wins, five Purdy FFA members received their state degrees, including Mason Schallert, Ky Propps, Shelby Heston, Jake Kellar, and Enrique Garcia.

Zane Brown noted of the event, “It was awesome to get third and an amazing opportunity to get on stage in front of 10,000 people with my three best friends.”
