A Purdy man has been charged with statutory sodomy for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl over the past year. Teddy McIntire, 56, is charged with statutory sodomy in the first degree and is currently being held in the Barry County jail in lieu of a $40,000 cash-only bond.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Barry County Sheriff’s Department Detective Robert Evenson interviewed a 14 year old girl at the Children’s Center in Monett. The girl said that McIntire had sexual intercourse with her five or six times over the last year, beginning when she was 13. The acts occurred in multiple locations, including hotel rooms and a truck at the Purdy Wastewater Lagoons where McIntire is an employee.
On February 12, Det. Evenson and Cassville Police Detective Danny Boyd interviewed McIntire at the Cassville Police Station. McIntire admitted to having sexual contact with the victim over the past year, but he claimed he never had sexual intercourse with her. By McIntire’s own admissions, charges were made for statutory sodomy on the girl.
McIntire is schedule for a disposition hearing on Tuesday, February 23, with Judge Robert Foulke.
