The annual Shakin’ in the Shell celebration is scheduled for September 17 - 18, at the Shell Knob Community Park.
Friday night, the Shell welcomes Morgan Squared, a high-energy band from Northwest Arkansas, whose performance features rich harmonies and amazing vocals.
Food, a beer & wine tent and a variety of crafters and vendors will be on site.
Returning this year will be free laser tag for kids and adults.
Saturday morning, the Classic and Custom Car Show will display cars, trucks, and motorcycles, with 79 trophies/plaques to be awarded. Bring a car to show, or just come take a look at the wide variety of impressive machines!
Activities start at 10 a.m. on Saturday with a tribute to our veterans. Please join us to show appreciation to the men and women of our armed forces. Shell Knob VFW Post #2203 will provide a flag ceremony and Nolan Crain will lead us in the National Anthem, while Phoenix the Bald Eagle watches over the ceremony. Afterward, members of the Discovery Quilters of Shell Knob will present five area veterans with a Quilt of Valor.
Returning for the 2nd year, POOCH PALOOZA will take us to the dogs with a demonstration from Diskey the Wonder Dog. A special presentation from 123 Train Me Dog Training will demonstrate dog obedience and offer advice for dog owners. The Mutt Strutt and Pooch Parade will follow. Entry is free. Great prizes will be awarded to the winners by Percy’s Playground, Turpentine Creek, Berryville Vet Clinic, Harter House, and Woods Cabins in Eureka Springs.
All day Saturday, kids may partcipate in free crafts, games, and activities under the “Big Top.” Look for the red and white tent.
Outside games include: cornhole, duck pond, ring toss, lawn golf and more, with chances to win prizes for participation.
Shell Knob’s 4-H Club will be on hand to share their projects. Barry County Extension will also attend this year to offer information about their services.
The day will wind down with karaoke from Brent Beeson.
In conjunction with the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce, this year’s Shakin’ in the Shell is supported by the following sponsors:
Harter House, Shell Knob; Chuck Singleton/Will Investments; Green Mountain Realty; MariCorp U.S.; Freedom Bank of Southern Missouri; Kings River Marina; Larson’s Heating, Air and Plumbing; Shirley’s Heating and Air; Deb Waterman/Keller Williams, Tri Lakes; Hickory Hollow Resort; Play Port Resort; Shell Knob Dental Center; Shell Knob Pest Control; Table Rock Storage; The Barn at Bear Ridge; The Knob Rock Rattler; and Willis Insurance Agency, Inc.
