Shell Knob man arrested for breaking into CCC camp

According to a statement released by Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly, a Shell Knob man is in custody after breaking into the CCC Camp pavilion on Hwy. YY in Shell Knob.
Sean Anthony Hand, 22, was identified within 15 minutes of the Sheriff’s Department posting images from a game camera on their Facebook page. In the affidavit of probable cause, it stated that David Fielder, a representative of the CCC camp, filed a burglary report on May 6. Since, the pavilion was broken into numerous other times.
On June 30, Detective Doug Henry installed a game camera to attempt to identify the subject committing the burglaries. Officials with the CCC camp told the Sheriff’s Office on July 9 that the pavilion had been broken into again. When images were pulled off of the game camera, Det. Henry said that Hand was identified in the images through Facebook as he was pilfering the pavilion of items.
In the images captured by the camera, Det. Henry noted that Hand entered the pavilion more than once and appeared to be removing wiring from above a window. Hand allegedly removed the wiring around 8:17 p.m. and then he went back around 11:18 p.m. and did something out of the view of the camera. Henry stated that he believed he had come back to retrieve something.
Sheriff Epperly, Detective Evenson and Officer Bill Watkins arrested Hand in a the Serano Trailer Park in Seligman on July 10.
Hand is charged with burglary in the second degree, property damage in the second degree and theft/stealing of property less than $500. He is being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $15,000 cash-only bond.
Hand has a disposition hearing set for Thursday, July 23, at 8:30 a.m.
