Renovations have begun at the old Justin Boots Factory, located at 1100 Presley Drive, in Cassville.
The property, which covers 14 acres with 106,000 sq. ft. between the two buildings at the site, was purchased by Paul and Patsy Sidio, of Spokane.
Justin Brands, which is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, manufactured boots from July 1981-July of 2020, when they stopped production operations at the Cassville plant, laying off 147 employees.
Paul Sidio, who owns other commercial and residential properties in southwest Missouri stated he had noticed it sitting empty for the last few years and asked local Realtor and Auctioneer Donnie Stumpff, with Stumpff’s Realty and Auction Service, about the property and went into negotiations with Justin Brands. They came to an agreement on the purchase of the property and closed on April 13, 2024.
“We plan to fix it up, replace the HVAC, repair the roof leaks and get it back into shape,” Paul said. “Justin Boots held hundreds of jobs in this town. The idea is to get manufacturing jobs and income back into the Cassville community.”
Paul said he plans to have renovations complete within the next sixty days and will lease the property for about half of what companies in Bentonville, Arkansas, pay.
