Long-time monthly donors Donnie and Teresa Stumpff, of Stumpff's Realty and Auction Service, have donated $5,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The donation was made on behalf of Truman Shumaker, a boy diagnosed with leukemia. Donnie states that as life-long friends of the Shumaker family, “It really hit home with us when their little boy Truman had to be treated for leukemia.
"The auction industry as a whole is a very good supporter of St. Jude’s, but we started doing this because children are something that’s near and dear to our heart, plus, with St. Jude’s 100% of your donation goes to finding a cure for cancer for kids, so there’s no administrative fees that come out of the donation.”
Donnie says that he encourages those who are financially able to do so to donate. “We’ve got a very good base of people who support us and we feel like this is our way of giving back,” he states.
He says that those he works with are largely to thank for where he is today, though “The main thing is the good Lord above. Without Jesus Christ in our life blessing us the way that he does, this would not be possible.”
