I had the honor of attending a soft opening dinner at The Rib, in Cassville, this past weekend and it did not disappoint.
New owners, Karlton Burbridge and Zanetta Campbell, purchased the property at 497 State Highway 76 in October of this year.
"We purchased the property so the community could have a place to come together," said Campbell. "We think it's a great place, and we love the building, so we decided to keep the nostalgia and name to honor the families here before us."
I remember eating at The Rib when it was owned by Skip and Kathy White and to walk back through the front double french doors was like walking back in time. The couple have stayed true to the layout of those days, with one exception. The lounge area now has a separate entrance for patrons, which opens an hour before the restaurant. The Prime Rib Lounge exterior door is situated to the left of the main entrance, has a full service bar, and will be open Wednesday-Saturday, 3-10 p.m. It will be a great place to have a drink before dinner or spend time with family and friends.
The restaurant hours will be Wednesday-Saturday, 4-9 p.m. and can accommodate larger groups, meetings and event parties by calling 417-847-3600. Though they will be closed during lunch hours, they will have "order ahead and pick up" availability during regular hours.
The grand opening has been set for Wednesday, November 30, at 4 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony prior to opening at 3:30 p.m.
"We plan to keep The Rib running for many years to come and want to thank the community in advance for all of their support," added Campbell.
