Third Fugitive Caught

The last of the three escaped inmates, Lance Stephens, has been taken into custody.
“Stephans was caught in San Antonio, Texas, last night around 8 p.m.,” Barry County Sheriff Boyd has confirmed. Lance Stephens, of Washburn; Matthew Crawford, of Springfield; and Christopher Blevins, of Golden, all escaped from the Barry County jail in the late overnight hours of June 2-3 though all three have now been taken into custody.
According to online records, Stephens had been arrested on drug-related charges, Crawford for theft, and Blevins for driving with a revoked license, among other charges.
On Wednesday, June 8, the Wyoming Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a flat bed Dodge, in Mills, Wyo., just outside of Casper, in which the officers found Blevins alongside a woman he was traveling with. Authorities arrested Blevins and released the female.
Matthew Crawford was taken into custody in Springfield on Monday, June 13, by U.S. Marshalls, Greene County deputies, and Springfield Police. According to Sheriff Boyd, Crawford was reportedly located in an abandoned building within Springfield city limits. Crawford is currently being held in Greene County.
