Pea Ridge woman dies in Washburn crash
A Pea Ridge, Arkansas, woman was killed just after noon on Monday, November 27, in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 90 in Washburn.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report filed by Cpl. K. Knight, the crash occurred when the eastbound 2020 Ford Transit, driven by Autumn Horton of Duneweg, was attempting to make a left turn, when the 2008 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Phillip Fonsworth McCorbey, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, tried to pass Horton and was struck and traveled off the roadway and overturned. Fonsworth-McCorbey received moderate injuries. His passenger, Kimberly Rogers, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, was fatally injured in the crash. Neither were wearing safety devices, and both were transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, where Rogers was pronounced dead by Dr. Yisang Wang just at 2 p.m. The 2020 Ford Transit received extensive damage; the 2008 Jeep Cherokee was totaled, and Brice’s Towing of Cassville towed both.
This is Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D’s 132rd fatality for 2023.
Cyclist killed in Washburn crash
A Washburn cyclist was killed just after 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, on Highway 37, south of Highway 90, in Washburn.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report filed by Cpl. T.L. Coffey, James Fogarty, 30, of Washburn, was traveling eastbound on a Schwinn bicycle, failed to yield, and struck a 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer traveling southbound and driven by Stevie T. Johnson, Jr., 36, of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The bicycle was totaled. The tractor-trailer received minor damage. Fogarty was transported to White Funeral Home by Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen.

Aurora woman seriously injured in crash
An Aurora woman was seriously injured in a crash on Highway 39, one mile north of Jenkins, on Friday, December 1, just before 7:30 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report filed by Tpr. T.M. Royster, the crash occurred when the southbound 2023 Kia Rio, driven by Taylor Clark of Aurora, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Clark, who was wearing a safety device, was seriously injured in the crash and transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The vehicle was totaled and was hauled by Brice’s Towing of Cassville.
Pierce City teen killed in Purdy crash
A Pierce City teen was killed in a crash on Hwy B, five miles west of Purdy, on Friday, December 1, just before 9 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report filed by Tpr. T.M. Royster, the crash occurred when the eastbound Suzuki motorcycle driven by Austin Breazzeal of Pierce City struck the rear of a 2004 Ford F150 driven by Bryce Morris of Shell Knob. Breazzeal was wearing a safety device but was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen just after 10 p.m. The motorcycle was totaled in the crash and was removed from the scene by Thomas Towing. The Ford F150 received extensive damage and was driven from the scene.
Shell Knob man seriously injured in crash
A Shell Knob man was seriously injured in a crash on Highway 86, five miles east of Golden, on Saturday, December 2, just after 11 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report filed by Tpr. T.M. Royster, the crash occurred when the westbound 2006 Chrysler 300 driven by Samuel Anderson of Shell Knob traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Anderson was not wearing a safety device, was ejected from the vehicle, and received serious injuries. He was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The car was totaled and was removed from the crash scene by Schrader’s Towing.
