Two arrested in major meth bust

Two people were arrested and charged in connection with a large methamphetamine bust by the Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team near Crane last week. Kenneth Stacy Reavis, 47, of Crane, and Melissa Ann Hoyt, 38, of Crane, were arrested and each charged with three felonies. Reavis is charged with distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence. Hoyt is charged with distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of an illegal weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.
In an affidavit of probable cause, officers with the Ozark Drug Enforcement Team were serving a narcotics search warrant at a residence located at 22996 Farm Road 2040 in Crane. When they entered the residence, Reavis was found flushing methamphetamine down the toilet to destroy evidence.
Officers found approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine still in the residence, multiple types of drug paraphernalia consistent with distribution and sales along with seven firearms. One of the firearms was a sawed off shotgun.
At the scene, officers confiscated morphine pills, digital scales, baggies and syringes, along with the firearms and methamphetamine.
Reavis is being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $40,000 cash-only bond. Hoyt is being held in lieu of a $30,000 cash-only bond.
