Two injured in Route Z crash

Two people were injured in a crash on Route Z on Wednesday, January 8, around 4:32 p.m. last week. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a vehicle pulled out in front of another, leading to the crash.

Terri E. Butterfield, 72, of Pierce City, was driving a 2019 Ford Edge westbound on Route Z when a 2006 Toyota Solara, driven by Rebekah J. Koenig, 61, of Mt. Vernon, pulled out onto the highway and was struck.

Both Koenig and Butterfield suffered moderate injuries in the crash. Koenig was taken to Mercy Hospital in Aurora while Butterfield was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Both vehicles were totalled and towed from the scene by Thomas Towing, of Monett.
