Wildcats open cross country season with win at Aurora

The Cassville Wildcats christened the 2019 cross country season with a first place finish at the Aurora Hot Dawg Invitational on Thursday, September 5. Devon Brookes paced the Wildcats, as Chris Shore’s boys packed five runners in the top 11 places.
Cassville varsity boys finishers:
Devon Brookes, 5th 19:16
Pace Evans, 6th 20:19
Steven Collinwood, 7th 20:20
Kel Wilson, 10th 20:55
Quinn Cook, 11th 21:06
Caleb Leach claimed first place in the JV boys race, and Kyler Hayward won the middle school girls race in her first ever cross country meet.
All Stater Jordyn Stafford will likely miss the entire season with an injury, a devastating blow to the girls side of the program.
Cassville runners return to action on Thursday at Seneca, and then head to Monett on Tuesday, September 17.
