The Cassville Wildcats, with their top-seed and accompanying first round bye, had an extra week to prepare for Friday’s district semifinal at Wildcat Stadium. Lance Parnell and his staff also had the luxury of knowing in advance who that semifinal opponent will be.
The Hollister Tigers, decimated by Covid 19 restrictions, forfeited their quarterfinal game, sending Reeds Spring up in the bracket to face the Wildcats.
In the other quarterfinal game in Class 3 District 6, Seneca held on to upset Aurora, 35-30. The Indians will play at second-seeded Mt. Vernon on Friday night.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, many spectators have elected to stay home and watch the high school football games on the streaming internet sites this season. Beginning with the district quarterfinals, streaming video of all MSHSAA football post season games is only through the MSHSAA.tv website.
