Coenen claims sectional wrestling championship

Cassville senior Zach Coenen earned a berth at state, winning the 220 pound weight class in Saturday’s Class 2 wrestling sectional at Seneca. Coenen defeated Osage’s Connor Arrowood in the championship match.
Coenen finished the tournament with two pins and a decision, and advances to the MSHSAA state wrestling championships March 9-13 at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence.
Gabe Hunter and Jake Anthonysz earned fourth place in their respective divisions, 138 and 145 pounds. Kurt Deaver and Gavin Moore also competed for the Cassville team at sectionals, in the 106 and 132 pound divisions.
