Driver of stolen pickup in fatality accident sought
A wreck two miles east of Eagle Rock on Highway 86 claimed the life of 87-year-old Dorthy Hickey, of Golden, Sunday morning. It was Troop D’s 58th fatality accident for 2021.

Dorthy R. Hickey, 87, of Golden, died in a wreck two miles east of Eagle Rock.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol report states that at 10:23 a.m. on Sunday, June 13, a westbound 2012 Chevrolet 2500 crossed Highway 86’s center line and struck Hickey’s eastbound 2016 Ford Escape head on.
Hickey was pronounced dead at 11 a.m. by Dr. Orlando at Mercy Hospital ER, and taken to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Her passenger, Benjamin Tinnin, 47, of Cassville, was transported by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas, with serious injuries.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Brice’s Towing. Tinnin and Hickey were both wearing safety devices.
According to the Eagle Rock Golden Mano Fire Department, who responded to the accident, the driver of the 2012 Chevrolet 2500 fled on foot when the first units arrived and has yet to be identified.
According to Sheriff Danny Boyd, it was later discovered that the pickup had been reported as stolen. The theft is being investigated by the Highway Patrol.
